Successful Financial Planning for Life Events - Financial Literacy Workshop

Argenta Community Development Corporation will present Successful Financial Planning for Life Events, a free workshop, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the Arkansas Studies Center, Room 204, 100 Rock Street, in Little Rock. The class will be presented by Rodney Parks, owner and CEO of Parks Professional Group, a consulting firm. Throughout the day attendees will engage in lively discussion and receive valuable financial planning tools about life events including birth of child, marriage, divorce, college and retirement planning, insurance, eldercare. Rodney will also speak about investing in various financial resources. The class will be presented by Rodney O. Parks, president of the Parks Professional Group, a business development consulting firm.   Along with his consulting firm, Parks serves as the director of development of Philander Smith College, is a member of the State of Arkansas Banking Board and an adjunct professor.  He has worked for 20 years in the financial services industry with the last five years at Merrill Lynch.  While at Merrill Lynch, he raised $15 million dollars in 24 months as a financial advisor, before becoming the Associate Business Manager.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Finance from Arkansas Tech University.  He earned NASD Series 7, 31, 63 and 65 licenses. Argenta Community Development Corporation's NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center offers FREE monthly homebuyer education classes to anyone who needs a homebuyer education training certificate for their approved loan or and for all who want to know more about purchasing a home. Taught by HUD-certified homebuyer counselors and industry professionals, the classes include topics about budgeting, managing credit, the mortgage loan process, foreclosure prevention and more. Participants are given a variety of timely resources to take home. A continental breakfast and lunch are included. Registration is required.
